How to visit Zoo Ave
Zoo Ave is located 10 km west of Alajuela in La Garita de Alajuela.

1.0 Introduction
Zoo Ave Wildlife Conservation Park is located in La Garita de
Alajuela, Costa Rica.
By 1995, Zoo Ave was
recognized by the Costa Rican government as an official Wildlife
Rescue Center.
Zoo Ave and the Foundation are dedicated to
preserving the rich, unparalleled natural diversity of Costa Rica so
that it may be understood, respected and enjoyed by future generations
of Costa Ricans and foreign visitors.
Just before Jacob left we had a fun visit to Zoo Ave which is just
south or so of Alajuela. This is a neat little zoo that focuses on
rehabilitation and education about conservation etc. Jacob as always
managed some neat pictures – the signs were interesting.
Spread over the lush grounds of Zoo Ave is a collection of large cages
holding toucans, hawks, parrots, and even two quetzals (the macaws
range free), not to mention crocodiles, turtles, monkeys, wild cats,
and other interesting critters.
