Zion Wildlife Gardens is dedicated to the preservation of endangered
species of big cats. To help fund habitat development and the ongoing
care of it's big cats, Zion Wildlife Gardens offers a range of guided
tours, available daily.
"Our trip to Zion Wildlife Gardens was amazing! We could not believe
how close we were to the tigers and lions and the friendly team at the
park were keen to share information with us. This is one of the best
family outings we have had.
Zion Wildlife Gardens is a private animal sanctuary in New Zealand
that is dedicated to the preservation of big cats. The park houses
many endangered big cats, mainly Lions and Tigers, and also houses a
Black Leopard, two Cheetahs, two Servals and a Baboon.
Most of the big cats at Zion Wildlife Gardens are now extinct in the
wild, or never existed in the wild. It's estimated that there are only
120 White Bengal Tigers, 150 White lions and 100 Barbary Lions left in
the world, all of which are in captivity.
Zion Wildlife Gardens has an extensive breeding program with animal
exchanges often being made with other parks and reserves around the
world.
In 2007 they had two litters of white lion cubs born, the first ever
in New Zealand.

A keeper has been mauled to death at the Zion Wildlife Gardens in
Whangarei. Police and OSH staff are investigating the incident which
is believed to have been witnessed by a group of eight overseas
tourists.

Zion Wildlife Gardens has been making the news a lot lately. It's the
third attack in a year and a bitter dispute has also been raging
between the owners - a mother and her son.
Zion Wildlife Gardens Zion Wildlife Gardens is home to television's
"The Lionman" Craig Busch. It is located in a tranquil valley in Kamo
just north of Whangarei. It is home to over forty endangered big cats.
Craig is dedicated to the preservation of these animals.

unique chance to see them up close and learn about these magnificent
endangered animals.
