Park. A Salt Lake City banker Russell Lord Tracy founded Tracy Aviary
when he donated his private bird collection to Salt Lake City and its
children.

Desert Morning News - October 13, 2008 The Tracy Aviary has received a
commitment for a $750,000 donation the largest private contribution in
the Aviary's history.
Salt Lake City's Tracy Aviary is located on the southwest corner of
Liberty Park. You will need to enter on the park's north entrance to
reach Tracy Aviary.

Tracy Aviary is open 364 days a year. From March through October, the
aviary is open from 9:00 a.m - 6:00 p.m.

From 1938 to 1982, Tracy Aviary was well-known for their breeding
programs and for their part in the restoration of the Trumpeter Swans.

go.
largest public aviary, Tracy Aviary, has tips for the public regarding
the rescue of wild injured birds. Harsh winter weather is sometimes
the cause of injury to birds, and there are certain steps that the
public can take to save a bird’s life.
Tracy Aviary does not house or care for injured birds at its facility.
Until recently, Tracy Aviary sub-permitted wild bird rehab to a
handful of local rehab specialists in the community.
Roger Sweeney, Tracy Aviary’s curator says, “If a bird is injured or
seems unresponsive, place it in a box in a warm, dark environment and
immediately seek advice from a licensed rehabilitator.
During the summer, the Tracy Aviary offers bird shows twice a day in
their outdoor amphitheater. These shows feature free flight birds, and
last approximately 25 minutes. There are also indoor bird programs
offered during winter at Chase Mill.
