The Maryland Zoo is located in Baltimore and operates daily March
through December. The Baltimore Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in the
country; it first opened in 1876. Presently, there are over 1,500
animals in the zoo representing more than 200 species.

The Maryland Zoo, located in Baltimore Maryland, is the third oldest
zoo in the United States. First opening in 1876, the Baltimore Zoo was
renamed the Maryland Zoo in 2004.
The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore is open every day from 10:00am to 4:00pm
except for Thanksgiving, December 25th and the months of January &
February. They will also be closed the second Friday in June.

I liked the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore. I especially appreciated its
Arctic Animal and African Plains Sections.The seventeen dollar zoo
entrance fee for adults is too steep. This is a good zoo,but I have
been to better zoos that are much less expensive.
Billie Grieb, president of The Maryland Zoo, said the move made sense.
"Now the zoo can lend even more support to Dr. Cranfield's efforts and
further help with all the hard work he and the rest of the MGVP team
have been doing in Africa," Grieb said.
The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore (formerly the Baltimore Zoo) is a living
classroom, providing a broad spectrum of learning opportunities for
its varied audiences, both on-grounds and through innovated programs
off-grounds.
(Its name was changed to The Maryland Zoo in
Baltimore in 2004.) It is the third oldest zoo in the country, behind
Philadelphia (1873) and Cincinnati (1874).
