Temaikèn is a place of amazement and learning. Going through the park,
you will find white tigers, hipopottamus submerged in clear water and
an 8-screen movie theater which surrounds you in all dimensions.

Just outside Buenos Aires, Argentina, many of the world’s endangered,

” Temaikèn, the park, research, and rehabilitation facility,
takes its name from the native Tehuelche Indian word, and with its
emphasis on conservation, the place makes good on its life-giving
promise.

Temaikèn is a place where the nature astonishes and teaches.
Temaikèn comes from the words Tem = land and Aikén = life, that means
"Land of Life" in the language of Tehuelches. Tehuelches or Patagonian
were native tribes from Southern Patagonia.
Temaikèn is a 34 hectare-zoo-park where the three big habitats of
nature are recreated, water, land and air, where you can find a
diversity of autochthones species and also species from other regions
in the world.

Its name, Temaikèn, means "Land of Life" in the Tehuelche language; an
aborigine tribe that inhabited Patagonian lands. The Park has been
constructed as a real Nature Interpretation Centre and IS based on the
"Zoo Future 2005" document of the WAZA (1995).
The Park is the tool that Temaikèn Foundation uses to comply with its
environmental education, conservation and research goals for wild
flora and fauna.
