Sydney Wildlife World is a zoo in the city of Sydney, Australia
officially opened in September 2006. It is located on the shores of
Darling Harbour and is attached to Sydney Aquarium.
The Sydney Wildlife World is unusual for a zoo in that it is entirely
enclosed and air-conditioned. The AUD$45 million development features
a one-kilometre walkway which snakes through 7000 square metres of
enclosures. The enclosure features around 6000 native animals.

While the Sydney Wildlife World does showcase a number of animals from
Australia, it does not allow one to take a free picture (and certainly
not hold, which apparently is illegal in New South Wales) with the
koalas as the ticket agent claimed.
My husband and I visited Sydney Wildlife World soon after moving to
Sydney, on a relatively chilly weekend by Sydney standards when the
appeal of doing something inside was much greater than usual.
Sydney Wildlife World, opened at Sydney's Darling Harbour in September
2006, brings some of Australia's unique animals, birds and other
creatures right at the doorstep of the city's central district.
What Sydney Wildlife World offers is a variety of interesting and
unique Australian fauna so accessible to the Sydney city visitor many
can simply walk to it and with a variety of animal species in nine
unique Australian habitats.
