in 1905 by Charles Price, Superintendent of the Metropolitan District
Commission's Middlesex Fells Reservation. In 1969 the Zoo was renamed
in honor of Walter D. Stone, the Director of the Zoo who died in an
automobile accident.

The Stone Zoo is a great small zoo that is close by to where I live. I
have been there at least twice before in the past six years previous

Stone Zoo, formerly known as the Middlesex Fells Zoo, is located on a
26-acre site near the sparkling Spot Pond reservoir in Stoneham, MA
affiliated with the Franklin Park Zoo.
We went to a birthday party at the Stone Zoo in the rain on Saturday.
It was great! We had cake and presents in a tent with sides that was
quite cozy, then sloshed through the zoo.
For more than 100 years, Stone Zoo has delighted generations of
visitors. This 26-acre site is home to colobus monkeys, Canada lynx,
snow leopards, Mexican gray wolves, river otters and a wide range of
other fascinating animals.
Stone Zoo Folks can still get tickets to A Wild Affair tomorrow night
(Sat), if interested.

Stone Zoo is a great place if you are into animals and especailly
seeing ones that you wouldnt be able to see normally. They are great
and only cost 7.50 for aduls and 4.50 for children.
Stone Zoo is a nice place to take the kids for the day. It is not a
huge zoo but it is good for young children.
Stone Zoo: $9 for adults; $8 for seniors (62+); $6 for children
(2-12); Children under 2 are free.

of the exhibits are newer or encompass a large natural area in which
the animals seem at home. The wolf exhibit was fantastic - the wolves
looked happy and were trotting around the entire enclosure.
Stone Zoo takes all of about an hour and a
half to walk through the whole thing, and they don't have many
animals. But it's not a bad place to take your young kids, and it's
just $9 admission.

The Reindeer (Rangifer tarandus) is the only species of deer in which
both the males and the females have antlers.
