Child's Estate Zoo. The zoo has been ranked numerous times as one of

the coast. It is home to over 700 animals which are housed in areas
that reflect their natural habitat. The zoo is also part of an
international effort to conserve rare and endangered species.

and enhancement of the natural world and its living treasures through
education, research, and recreation. The Zoo is home to 160 species of
mammals, reptiles, birds and insects.
The Santa Barbara Zoo has two miniature trains ( one red and one blue)

for kids. Visit Janine the crooked neck giraffe. According to the zoo
keeper, she was born that way. Despite her appearance, she is quite
healthy and lives a normal life.
The Santa Barbara zoo is ranked as one of America's best small zoos,

One of the things that I like most is that the zoo is located just
right next to the ocean, so the experience to be there and watch the

that you need to spend an entire day here. Nor is it so small that you
feel cheated out of your money. In Goldilock's terms: "It's just

The Santa Barbara Zoo is, in a word, quaint. It's big enough to spend
an afternoon at, and yet not so big that your feet start to hurt from
all of the walking. It's shady, quiet, relaxing and a great place to
visit.
The Santa Barbara zoo may not be the largest zoo in the world or the
most impressive or have the rarest animals, but those that they do are
VERY well respected and have habitats that are managable.
