Reid Park Zoo is small, but well maintained. And of course, because
it's Tucson, you can go all year long and be comfortable.
The price to get in is fair compared to other places I've been.
the Reid Park Zoo has done. With quite alot of other exhibits, like
the Flamingo walk around. Right in the heart of Tucson. Its small but
consider getting a pass to the Phoenix Zoo.
At Reid Park Zoo we are actively involved with conservation programs
around the world. With help from you, we are able to address a wide
range of issues that impact animals in the wild.
Reid Park Zoo has had a personal relationship with Charles and Lara
Foley for the past several years. Their in-situ conservation efforts
related to African elephants have been inspirational.
Reid Park Zoo provides an annual contribution to the Northern
Rangelands Trust to support Grevy’s Zebra research and protection in
East Africa. These funds regularly support a scout, and we have also
contributed additional funds when emergency funding for anthrax
vaccines was needed.

Reid Park Zoo has somehow transformed itself into a little zoo-ey
oasis. You've got a good view of the animals in 90% of the exhibits.
The tree-shaded zoo paths are narrow and twisty - it's a fun little
maze to work through.
The Reid Park zoo is very easily-laid out and kids don't
get overly tired from this zoo walking.
The animal displays are diverse, giving kids a chance to see a lot of
different animals.

Obviously, Reid Park Zoo is
not on the same level as the zoos in San Diego, DC. Pittsburgh's zoo
is far better. Took me about an 1 1/2 hours to tour the area. Some of
the animals seem a little cramped in their "homes.

Reid Park Zoo cooperates with other zoos in a Species Survival Plan for this endangered species. When you see the SSP symbol on an identification sign, you know that zoos are working together to try to save that species.
Tigers are one of only a few species of cats that enjoy water.
There are many types of trees and other vegetation at the Reid Park Zoo both in the exhibits and along the trails. They provide shade and cool temperatures.

The Reid Park Zoo is open daily 9am to 4pm. It is closed on December
25 and closes at noon on Thanksgiving Day.
The Reid Park Zoo is not a very large zoo, but it is still worth a
visit.
The Tucson Reid Park Zoo is a nice zoo for the size. It is a little
small, but you can see the whole thing in matter of two hours as
opposed to leaving after seeing only half of it like some big zoos.
These animals arrived at the Reid Park Zoo in 1995 as youngsters. They grew quickly until reaching maturity, and now growth rate is barely perceptible.
Caiman: The caiman is a small relative of mighty alligators and
crocodiles. These dwarf caiman are nearly full grown.

Reid Park Zoo in Tucson, AZ is deemed as small but mighty in zoo
standards when compared to others in the country. There are hundred of
animals here that call the zoo home.
The walk-through aviary at Reid Park Zoo is quite fun as the birds are
loose, flying around, eating or just goofing off! There are also
opportunities to see animal feedings, demonstrations and more.
The Reid Park Zoo is open most days from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00
p.m. There are ample restrooms inside the park and the gift shop has
some really great souvenirs and gifts.
