Philippine Eagle Center Open House on Saturday
In celebration of the annual Philippine Eagle Week on June 4-10, the
Philippine Eagle Center will be an Open House whole day Saturday, June
2, 2007 .
The Philippine Eagle Center is home to Pag-asa and over 30 other
Philippine Eagles, more than half of which have been bred at the
Center. It also houses many other species of birds, mammals and
reptiles, as well as various plant species.
The Philippine Eagle Center is open from 8am to 5pm daily. The
Philippine Eagle Week celebrations kick off with a motorcade on
Saturday from Magsaysay Park all the way to the Eagle Center .
The Philippine Eagle Center (PEC) is a park located some 45 minutes
away from the heart of Davao City. The PEC is home to many Philippine
Eagles saved from poachers, and many younger ones bred in captivity.
How to get there The Philippine Eagle Center (PEC) is about an hour
drive from the city and can be reached either by private or public
transport. Buses going to Calinan depart every 15 minutes from the
Annil Terminal located at corner Quirino and San Pedro Extension.
The Philippine Eagle Center is open from 8 in the morning until 5 in
the afternoon daily, including holidays.
Tours and Reservations Tour guiding at the Philippine Eagle Center is
free of charge. It is advisable that visitors call the PEF office and
book in advance to ensure the availability of tour guides during their
visit.

The Philippine Eagle Center is the place where the Philippines
National Bird is bred

Filipino term Haribon (Haring Ibon). I had been to the center many
times already but as always, i am always in AWE of these monkey-eating
eagles which are mostly found in Mindanao.

Calinan. The center is located in a tropical forest garden where you
can enjoy viewing a multiple variety of tropical plants, flowers, &
trees.
