grew and thrived there until the 1960s. Eleven years later, the Zoo
was re-established and moved to its current located in north
Montgomery.

Montgomery Zoo is a very reasonablly priced attraction that is
chockfull of fun. My mother, 3 year old son, and 22 month old
daughter, and myself went to the zoo on June 23rd in record heat.
Montgomery Zoo is very clean, the animals are well cared for, and the
habitats are natural but not so large that the animals are hidden from
view. Also, the zoo is just the right size...
MY family and I visted the Montgomery Zoo on July 25 2006, we had a
super great time. It was 100 % better then B-Ham Zoo. We are already
planning to go back in Oct.

as the Oak Park Zoo.
The Montgomery Zoo opened to the public in 1972 as a six-acre facility
housing some 84 species acquired mostly as gifts from zoos and
individuals. The collections was a menagerie, with no organizing
element or theme.
The Montgomery Zoo earns approximately 40 percent of its
operating budget annually and is supported by the city of Montgomery
and the Montgomery Area Zoological Society for the remainder of its
operating and capital needs.
