August 2006 HAMERTON Zoological Park in Cambridgeshire is a wildlife
park with more than 100 species including tigers, cheetahs, wolves,
lemurs, marmosets, meerkats, wallabies and a unique bird collection
with rare and exotic species from around the world.
At Hamerton Zoological Park, near Huntingdon, 100 species of exotic
birds and animals, from as far afield as Africa and the Amazon, are
being given extra food as they recline in heated enclosures.
`Huntingdonshire Woods', Hamerton Zoological Park was opened as a
conservation sanctuary in 1990. It is now home to around 500 animals
from over 100 different species; some endangered, and some highly
unusual and virtually unknown, being rarely seen in zoos.
