The Guadalajara Zoo is noted for its diversity of species, especially
birds, although there are many species of mammals as well, including
some endangered species from Mexico and the entire world.
- Mexican wolf- The Guadalajara zoo has four reproductive Mexican
wolves, and is participating in a proyect to reproduce and reintroduce
the species (today extinct in the wild).
Guadalajara zoo has produced 6 litters of cubs, all of them sired by a
male tiger named Niño who despite being normal in color, carries the
white gene, allowing him to have white cubs.
Guadalajara Zoo - opened its doors on March 25th, 1988 and ever since
that moment, it has been fulfilling the mission for which it was
created: to promote the conservation of nature through recreational
and educational activities.

The Zoológico Guadalajara y Safari Masai Mara is hard to beat for an
interesting and exciting day trip for those living in the Lake Chapala
area.
The red kangaroo species at the Guadalajara zoo comes from arid
central Australia.
The three surviving adult kangaroos gave birth just before arriving at
the zoo. The joeys have just begun to poke their heads from their
mothers' pouches, said zoo spokeswoman Danae Vazquez.
Guadalajara Zoo is
actually part of a group of attractions including the Planetarium,
Huentitan Park and the "Selva Mágica" entertainment center.
