We had a great time! The zoo is the perfect size for small children,
there are plenty of bathrooms and places to take a break and rest
little feet.

pleased. The Zoo is nicely spread out over 72 acres in the middle of

I grew up a short walk from The then fabulous Franklin Park Zoo in the
1940's and the 1950's and even then I took the zoo for granted.
However, it's so sad reading the current visitors comments about the
zoo now.
One would never mistake the Franklin Park Zoo for the Bronx, San Diego
or Atlanta zoos. It's much smaller and, in some ways, sadder than its
counterparts elsewhere (and now has to make do on far less, thanks to
state budget cuts).

The Franklin Park zoo has to be one of my favorite zoos to visit.
There is plenty to see here to keep you busy for hours including
lions, birds, zebras and more.
The Franklin Park Zoo, located in Dorchester, is a good place to take
the kids, but is not the best zoo around. This zoo has the
usual...zebras, lions, etc, but one of the most interesting things is
the butterfly area.

Franklin Park Zoo is clean, sweet and wholesome. There was ample
playground equipment, places for little kids to get up close and
personal with life on a farm, to observe butterflies and watch lions
with fascination.
The Franklin Park Zoo only gets two stars because it has a farm-style
petting zoo. As someone raised far away from farms, I've always liked
farm animals, and they had a good selection to pet.
The Franklin Park Zoo was a disappointment. The animal enclosures
were, for the most part, large fields encircled by a chain-link fence.
The newer part of the zoo, a tropical forest exhibit, had a nice look
to it, but it smelled of mildew and urine.
