koalas, as well as being the first zoo in the world to house and to
breed penguins.

ponds cum beaver enclosure’ at the bottom of the zoo. We also
currently have a single beaver living in at separate enclosure, next
to the Pallas Cats.

Keepers at Edinburgh Zoo are celebrating the birth of a pygmy
hippopotamus. Leishan, whose name means âgift' in West African, was
born on 9 June.

Edinburgh Zoo sits on quite a steep hill, making it quite difficult
for those with wheelchairs or baby-buggies to get started.
The Edinburgh Zoo is about 3 miles west of the city centre, accessible
by bus, taxi, or car. It is located on a hillside that makes the
visit, like much of Edinburgh, an exercise in hill climbing.
Admission is charged.
The Edinburgh zoo was my personal favourite site of the city. You have
to allow yourself at least two hours here. I spent three! There is a
great selection of animals. My favourites were the penguins, giraffe,
zebra’s, the lions, and tigers.

Edinburgh zoo is just poo! don't bother wasting your precious time and
hard earn money going. Went with the children this Easter half term
holiday and there's not much animals to see.

Edinburgh Zoo can be found on the western side of Edinburgh, three
miles from the city centre, occupying an 82 acre site on the southern
slopes of Corstorphine Hill. Despite its large size, the zoo is very
easy to overlook.
Penguins first arrived at Edinburgh Zoo in 1914, and
started breeding in 1919. The penguin pool you see today, built in
1930, allows a fascinating insight into the above and below-water
lives of these amazing birds.

Edinburgh Zoo is getting a name for itself after its female, Sayang,
and her hubby gave birth to their second baby in as many years.
Keepers at the Edinburgh Zoo are celebrating the birth of a pygmy

born on June 9th. She is the offspring of Ellen and Otto and is the
first baby for this new breeding pair.
