"This is a very sad loss for Denver Zoo and our community," said Denver Zoo president Craig Piper. "Olaf will be missed by all of us, including the many families and children who have visited him over the years.
While at Denver Zoo, Olaf fathered four cubs with his first mate, Ulu, including the famous siblings Klondike and Snow, who were born Nov. 6, 1994, the zoo said. Olaf and Ulu had a second pair of cubs, Berit and Ulaq, born Dec. 28, 1998.
The Denver Zoo is amazing and so much fun. This is a huge zoo. We love the monkeys in the trees! This is a world class zoo with so much to see so plan on getting there early.
I love the Denver Zoo!! So many animals in great habitats and theres always something new every time you go!! The lions have a wonderful new exhibit that you can really see them up close. The wide open savannah and the large variety of African animals were amazing.

The Denver Zoo is a fantasic place to take the kids or anyone for the day. It's laid out well, there is a new African animal area that is beautiful, and my daughter loves the little train and gorgeous carousel.
We visited the Denver Zoo on March 16, 2007. It was me, my husband and our 17 month old son. Winter hours are 10 AM to 5 PM. Get there early because parking fills up fast. We paid $9 apiece for two adults. Our son was free.

The Denver Zoo is a nice size but not too spread out. The exhibits are one after another but not in a bad way. The sidewalks are wide and there are benches everywhere. It feels like you're closer to the animals than you actually are.

The Denver Zoo is great. Very easy to navigate and affordable. You can easily go for 2 hours. Worth it to go with the family membership! Kids are outside. You bring your own food. The Christmas lights are great.
