Not only is the Dallas Zoo the oldest one in Texas (founded in 1888),
it's also the largest in land, with 95 developed acres. The Wilds of

Our overall experience at the Dallas Zoo was very entertaining and
delightful. If we had to choose between the Dallas Zoo or the Dallas
World Aquarium, I would personally opt for the latter.
Dallas Zoo was founded in 1988 and is considered the oldest zoo in
Texas. Sitting on 95 acres, this zoo is home to over 2,000 animals,
including many rare and endangered species, such as Okapis, Snow
Leopards, Tuataras, and so much more.

Dallas Zoo where we received zoo admission and a catered lunch for a
set price. It was lovely! Although I have lived in the Dallas area for
over 10 years, I had never before visited the Dallas Zoo - I had only
visited the Fort Worth...

There is a degree of uneveness in the exhibits. Some have obviosuly
received a lot more recent attention than others. Some of the
infrastructure dates form the Works Progress Adminstration of the
1930's.
In spite of what you might have heard the Dallas Zoo is great and well
worth a visit. They have a new Tiger exhibit and completely redone
monkey exhibit. No where outside is going to pleasant in a Texas
Summer recommend Spring, Winter or fall.
Today's Dallas Zoo still has problems, but the improvements that have
been made in the last 20 years give me a lot of hope for this
institution.
In 1985, you entered through jail-bar turnstyles. I love those things.
