One of Chessington Zoo’s residents, Brindsley the macaw, has been
banned from a local hotel for burping during a ‘meet and greet’ for
guests. Diners at the hotel complained that the noise not only put
them off their food but also set a bad example for their children.
Chessington Zoo became part of the Tussauds
Group in 1978 and is now operated as a Theme park. The mansion remain
as part of the park as a haunted house called Hocus Pocus Hall.

features various birds of prey flying freely as if in the wild.

I am wondering if any Chessington Zoophobes have any information on
the two elephants who featured in the Circus during the war and until
around 1951 when they went off the radar. They were purchased from
Chapmans in 1941 and were called Nellie & Margaret.
Chessington Zoo is home to a large variety of incredible animals from
lions, tigers and gorillas, to selections of smaller monkeys and birds
- and some more exotic animals thrown in for good measure.
Chessington Zoo & World of Adventures, before a family get-together in
the hotel. We had a standard double, other members of our party had an
exec room.
The Hotel has an african theme, and is very well presented.
