The Brandywine zoo is a cute small zoo. They dont have a lot of
animals, but it is still nice. They dont have elephants, zebras, or
giraffes at this zoo, but they have some nice animals.
The Brandywine Zoo's Education Programs enhance and enrich peoples'
understanding and respect of the complex relationships among all
living things AND inspire wildlife conservation.

The Brandywine Zoo is located in beautiful Brandywine Park in
Wilmington, DE.
The purpose of the Brandywine Zoo is to stimulate knowledge,
awareness, and appreciation of the biological and physical world and
to promote an understanding of our relationship to the environment.
Today, the Brandywine Zoo covers almost 13 acres of land and houses
149 animals. The Brandywine Zoo is managed by the Delaware Division of
Parks and Recreation with the support of the Delaware Zoological
Society.
Brandywine Zoo Information
Open since 1905, Delaware's only zoo is located a few steps from the
Brandywine River. The 12-acre zoo features a Siberian tiger, river
otters, and other animals native to the Americas and the temperate
areas of Asia.
The Brandywine Zoo is managed by Delaware State Parks with the support
of the Delaware Zoological Society. This quaint facility is home to a
variety of species of mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians.
Brandywine Zoo offers educational programs for enthusiasts of all
ages, from toddlers to adult. Contact the Zoo Education Department for

Brandywine River, the Brandywine Zoo is a beautiful and smaller
alternative to the Philadelphia Zoo. Kids love watching the river
otters splash around, and the Siberian Tiger exhibit is always a
favorite.
The Brandywine Zoo is a gem in our lives. It's
very education driven with programs about animals, conservation
and habitat protection, and do programs that speak to all ages.
The Brandywine Zoo is the place for family programs. There is
something going on every weekend for preschoolers and up - activities
that parents will enjoy, too. ZooCamp is a day camp consisting of four
week-long sessions for children ages seven through twelve.
Brandywine Zoo was euthanized Thursday after developing weakness in
his hind legs that made it hard for him to move around.
The 19-year-old Tiger, named Sergei, was euthanized by a veterinarian
from the University of Pennsylvania.
at the Brandywine Zoo and at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado, where
he was born in 1988. Sergei was brought to the Brandywine Zoo in 1998.

The Brandywine Zoo is located in beautiful Brandywine Park in
Wilmington, Delaware. The Zoo grounds cover 13 landscaped acres on
high ground above the Brandywine River. The Zoo hosts 150 animals,
from tigers to snakes, and is open all year round.
The Brandywine Zoo is managed by the Division of Parks and Recreation
with the support of the Delaware Zoological Society.
The Brandywine Zoo offers people of all ages an opportunity to learn
more about wildlife and conservation through a variety of programs.
There are seasonal programs offered throughout the year for everyone.
Brandywine Zoo a satellite classroom for teaching about science and
nature.
Other educational opportunities offered at the zoo are: Mini-Day Camps,
ZooCamp, and the A.D.O.P.T. Program to help guide people through a
whole new world of animals and their habitats.
In addition to these programs, the Brandywine Zoo participates in the
Species Survival Plan. This is a plan which was begun by the American
Association of Zoological Parks and Aquariums to promote the long term
survival of certain endangered animals.
