The Austin Zoo is worth visiting because it is a rescue zoo. There are no flashy exhibits, and the animal selection is fairly limited, but it is saving animal lives that might otherwise be lost.

The Austin Zoo isn’t a big flashy zoo like they have in San Diego, but I think that’s part of its charm. They have rescued animals there. Lions, tigers, bears and all. You can get much closer to the big cats than at other zoos I’ve been to.

My family had got a flyer with AUSTIN ZOO on it so we had decided we would go on a weekend. While they do have lots of rescued animals we found the place to be very fun and intresting. My kids enjoyed looking at the monkeys and giraffes.
