The Austin Zoo is worth visiting because it is a rescue zoo. There are
no flashy exhibits, and the animal selection is fairly limited, but it
is saving animal lives that might otherwise be lost.
The Austin Zoo isn’t a big flashy zoo like they have in San Diego, but
I think that’s part of its charm. They have rescued animals there.
Lions, tigers, bears and all. You can get much closer to the big cats
than at other zoos I’ve been to.

My family had got a flyer with AUSTIN ZOO on it so we had decided we
would go on a weekend. While they do have lots of rescued animals we
found the place to be very fun and intresting. My kids enjoyed looking
at the monkeys and giraffes.
I first visited the Austin Zoo in March, 2008 when my daughter and
granddaughter came to visit during one of my extended stays in Austin.
At 2 years old, Anna had never been to a zoo before and we were
excited to see her reaction.

Austin Zoo is a small, quaint zoo. The primary animals in the zoo are
exotic animals. You will not find ostrichs, elephants, giraffes, etc.
The Austin Zoo is a true hidden treasure.
The Austin Zoo is not a formal place like those in many other cities,
but it is a charming and interesting experience nonetheless.
Thank you Austin Zoo for
giving these poor animals a new lease on life and taking care of them
after what was I'm sure a difficult time for them before being
rescued.

The Austin Zoo is a true hidden treasure. I bet you
could ask 10 random people in town where it is and 1 would draw you a
map, 2 could get you close, and the rest would call you an idiot
while… 2.
